I've always asked myself, how do you know that your getting a high voiced Douglas fir? I could be getting a Deep voiced one, well thanks to research and Youtube, I think I figured it out!(Gemmy experts, correct me if I'm wrong on this)

  1. 1. The high voiced Douglas fir is the original from 1996, it wasn't until 1997 the deep voiced one came out to replace the so called "Annoying" higher-piched version.
  1. 2. You can tell these two versions apart by their eyes. High voiced ones have more oval pupilswheras the deep voiced ones have round pupils and on occassion, veins. Also, there seems to be more Deep voiced versions with transparent eyes than high voiced ones.
  1. 3. The Adaptor ports on the 24" versions are: "DC 6v" for the 1996 one and "DC 7v" for the 1997 one.

Don't let their eyes fool you, I think the easiest way to tell the two 24" one apart is by looking at the adaptor jacks. If it's an 18" or smaller, looking at the eyes is your best bet.

As I said earlier, I'm no expert. So all you Douglas fir experts out there, let me know where I'm wrong in this study! I'll gladly accept the advice!
